The client brief:

In February 2020 we were instructed to design, supply and install a steel frame inside an existing manufacturing facility to support a large production line. This was a part of a larger £12.5m project.

The work we completed:

We offered a complete end-end service on this project, designing, supplying and installing a 240 tonne steel frame including mesh flooring/under guarding and hand railing, with a total combined weight of 240 tonnes.

One month into the project, we were presented with the challenges and new restrictions imposed by the government during the Covid-19 pandemic. This caused issues beyond our control on a project with already tight timescales. However, we are proud to say that this project has been installed safely and efficiently throughout.

We have been required to work with other contractors to deliver this project on time. We erected steelwork inside an existing building, around previously installed machinery.

Project outcome:

All work has been completed on time and to a very high standard. The design work carried out by our engineers in the early stages of the project has worked perfectly, allowing the installation to move along swiftly and smoothly.
As well as the challenges coronavirus has presented, this project has required many design revisions during both manufacture and installation of the project, which have been accommodated by our teams accordingly. We spent approximately 8 weeks on site.
